Portia Polar Bear Children's Book
Daniel and his good friend Margie Carroll teamed up to produce this delightful children's book that was placed as a finalist in the International Book Awards competition. This 47-page book tells the story of a little polar bear who discovers she's pigeon-toed. This realization makes her sad, sending her on a mission to check with her other Arctic friends about her unique characteristics. Fiona, the Arctic fox, starts the ball rolling by pointing out Portia's unusual gate. Harrison Hare offers Portia comforting insight and support to try and console her about being different than all the other arctic animals. Portia's desire to be normal was her ongoing Wish. It's a feel-good story about being a little different that ends in a very positive way.
The photography is spectacular, capturing the essence of the Arctic and the animals that live there. The story is heart-wrenching, with a very happy ending. Combined, they create a wonderful fairytale that holds a child's attention and educates them at the same time.
